Free All About Me Preschool Lesson Plans - Stay At Home Educator (1)

An All About Me preschool theme is the perfect introduction to school, family, and friends. It’s so important to build confidence, develop a sense of worth, and make connections with our peers and adults.

This theme includes celebrating our similarities and differences, exploring different types of families, and learning to navigate feelings and emotions. Young children can be egocentric (which is developmentally appropriate for their age) so as parents and educators it’s important to spotlight the value and wonder of others and develop some of those social-emotional values, such as empathy, loyalty, and kindness. These wonderful traits all begin with children learning their worth and the worth of others.

We have put together over 15 all about me themed activities and we can’t wait to share them with you! Each activity is described in the post and all bundled together for you in a FREE download at the end! Happy back to school!

FAQ About an All About Me Preschool Theme

You may have a few questions about teaching this preschool theme! Check out these frequently asked questions for how to teach your preschoolers about All About Me.

How do you introduce all about me to preschoolers?

A great way to begin is with each child’s name. A name is uniquely special to each child and honors their sense of worth. Invite children to talk about their likes and dislikes and encourage them to share about their families. Children will soon learn that they have a lot in common or will learn how very different their families might be!

What are some all about me activities?

Invite children to create their own faces using yarn, markers, and skin-colored faces or draw their own self-portraits. Use play dough to create different emotions and discuss how to deal with those feelings. Proudly display the children’s artwork of themselves for all to see. Encourage children to learn other children’s names through role-play and posting pictures of each other. Discuss feelings and emotions and how to navigate conflicts.

What are some all about me concepts for preschoolers?

It’s important for preschoolers to recognize important parts about themselves and others including that each child is unique, we all grow and change differently, we are all a part of a family, and we have different feelings and emotions each day. Additionally, discussing how we deal with those big emotions and make friendships is part of an all-about-me theme as well.
