Spanish 101 and 102 prepare students to achieve basic proficiency in the language and understanding of Hispanic cultures. Spanish 101 begins this process of building and developing the new language system by engaging students in learning activities that address listening, reading, writing and speaking through independent study. To be successful (which means learning to use Spanish meaningfully in practical situations), you will need to stay motivated and practice regularly each week.
