In this bounty, you'll be tasked with killing the brightest mind in the G3 Cartel, Dr. Giblets. A hermit known for developing the warp base technology used by the G3, Dr. Jon Giblets lives so far off the grid that even Gene has no leads on his location. Because of this, you'll need to do some detective work before heading out on this hit.

In this High on Life walkthrough, you'll learn how to discover Dr. Giblets' location, how to reach the recluse, and how to kill Dr. Giblets to complete this bounty.

Spoiler Alert!

This guide contains major spoilers for High on Life's Main Story, including several of the results of your Choices and Consequences during this bounty. Read with caution!

Prelude

If you already completed the Skrendel Bros Bounty, ignore this portion of the guide and skip directly to the Dr. Giblets Bounty Walkthrough below.

Talk to Magistrate Clugg

Before you can begin Skrendel Bros or Dr. Giblets bounties, you'll return home to turn in your third bounty. Whether your third bounty was Krubis or Douglas, Gene will prompt you to check out the tv broadcast. Blim City Magistrate, Clugg Nuggmin, will praise your efforts against the G3 Cartel and ask that you pay him a visit. Enter the portal and you'll travel to Magistrate Clugg's office.

As a sign of good faith, Magistrate Clugg will give you a Human Rescue Tool that can be used to teleport humans to a safe haven prepared by his team.

Buy a Jetpack

Collect the Tool from his desk and return home, after a brief conversation with Gene, head to Mr. Keeps Pawn Shop to purchase a Jetpack for 999 Pesos. Unfortunately, the Jetpack will be on backorder, so you'll need to come back in a couple of days to pick it up.

When you're finished shopping, run home to take a nap, and when you awake you'll have the Jetpack equipped. Run through the quick tutorial to collect the Luglox pictured above, then head back home to settle the argument about the attractiveness of Lizzie's boyfriend, Tweeg. Though you'll have the opportunity to side with either party, your dialogue Choices will only prompt different voicelines and will not have an impact on the greater narrative.

Once the argument comes to a close, you'll finally be able to use the Bounty-5k to accept the Dr. Giblets Bounty.

Dr. Giblets Bounty Walkthrough

If you chose to complete the Skrendel Bros Bounty prior to this one, you'll need to settle an argument between Lizzie and Gene about Lizzie's boyfriend, Tweeg, before you can accept the Dr. Giblets bounty. You'll have the option to let Tweeg stay in the house or tell him to leave. Though you can prompt different voicelines depending on your Choices, there will be no impact on the greater narrative.

To begin, use the Bounty-5k and accept the Dr. Giblets Bounty, unfortunately, the portal to Dr. Giblets will fail because his location is unknown. Gene will mention that Giblets is in possession of an incredibly powerful Gatlian and he'll send you out to Blim City to do some old-fashioned detective work to find out Giblets' location. Before you go pound the pavement, Gene will unlock your suit's Detective Mode.

Conduct a Full Investigation

Head into Blim City and use your bounty suit's scanner. With Detective Mode now active, the scanner will highlight Blim Residents that you can interrogate by outlining them in pink. Though you'll be given various dialogue options during interrogations, your Choices here do not impact the Main Story.

Use your scanner to locate and interrogate two more Blim City Residents and the third resident you speak to will finally provide some valuable information. The third resident will send you to speak to Blorto, the Warp Disc dealer and chef located in the center of Blim City. Head over to Blorto's kiosk and interrogate him.

Regardless of which residents you interrogate and the order in which you interrogate them, the interactions will always be the same. The first two residents will always provide no valuable information and the third will always send you to Blorto's.

Blorto will nervously encourage you to investigate the High on Life store in the Blim City Slums so head over to the gate you used during the 9-Torg Bounty and begin the long trek to the store.

Investigate High on Life

Before you can reach the Slums, you'll be confronted by 9-Torg's surviving goons. Let the bullets fly and wipe them out. Once the final enemy has fallen, head to the Shanty District dock just to the left of the bridge. Use your Jetpack to fly over to the previously inaccessible platform in the sludge, then float over to the wooden walkway in the distance.

At the end of the wooden walkway, grapple from the bug on the left and land on the blue walkway ahead. Head down the blue path, take a right at Space Applebee's, and defeat the enemies in the Shopping District. As the fight continues, make your way up the ramp to reach the building in the image below.

Enter the building, take care of the sniper inside, zipline upward, and continue up the path while killing any enemies in your way. After walking up the translucent bridge, you'll find the High on Life store on the platform below you.

Approach the store and use your detective privileges to skip the line. Use your Detective Mode scanner to identify the store manager and interrogate them. When interrogating the manager proves fruitless, you'll try to leave the store but you'll be interrupted by two menacing aliens in suits. After they leave, exit the shop and you'll discover a trample victim wearing Mag-Boots. With little use for them now, grab the Mag-Boots off the corpse.

Return Home and Regroup with Gene

Use your Mag-Boots to climb up the magnetic wall pictured above, then grapple toward the High on Life store to reach the next magnetic wall. Now, defeat the flying enemies ahead and use the grapple bugs to reach the magnetic wall across the way. Continue walking on the magnetic wall to the end and you'll find yourself near Space Applebee's.

Grapple off the bugs and attach yourself to the zipline to return to the beginning of this area. Next, fly over to the Shanty District dock in the Slums and after killing the enemies here, make your way back home by traveling through the Slums Access Route. Upon entering your home, you'll be greeted by the menacing aliens that confronted you in the store. The suits will reveal that they represent Magistrate Clugg and they'll escort you to Clugg's Office. Enter the portal and Clugg will give you Map Data leading to Dr. Giblets.

Return home and use the Bounty-5k to create a portal to Dr. Giblets' location in Zephyr Paradise. Though portals are usually created automatically, this time you'll need to click the Portals tab (middle tab) and hand-select the Deep Jungle in Zephyr Paradise.

Find Dr. Giblets on Zephyr

Once you've entered Zephyr Paradise you'll want to begin by following the same path you traveled during the Krubis Bounty. So head north, go up the natural ramp and defeat the enemies that warp in. Collect the Warp Crystal from the Warp Base, then grapple from the bug floating in front of the base to attach to the zipline ahead. From the end of the zipline, use the Fan Plants or your Jetpack to follow the sludge river leading toward your scanner's marker.

Crawl through the Furgle Warren and wipe out the enemies that warp in when you reach the Lower River Canyon. Before moving forward, grab the Warp Crystal at the bottom of the base, then continue following your Bounty Suit's scanner to reach the Moplet Village.

Sadly, the Moplet Village has fallen under G3 control so take out the enemies and head through the large red door that you opened with the Mine Access Code during the Krubis Bounty. Ahead you'll enter the Mine Outskirts which is swarming with enemies. Once you've killed them all, head toward the sludge just past the final warp bases to enter the battle.

Fly across the sludge and use your Mag-Boots to stick onto the crystal-lined rock wall on the left. At the end of the magnetic path, use the bugs to grapple onto the ledge across the way. Just past the Moplet that's been cut in half, you'll find Dr. Giblets' base.

Investigate Dr. Giblets' Base

Use your scanner to identify the evidence in the area, and like your previous investigation in Blim, the evidence will be highlighted in pink. Analyze three pieces of evidence to fill up your detective meter and you'll complete this investigation.

Next, head through the T-shaped door at the center of the base and use your scanner to highlight evidence again. After analyzing any three pieces of evidence you'll wrap up the investigation, so enter the door on the left side of the room.

During the first two investigations, your suit will mark more than three pieces of evidence. Though each piece of evidence will prompt new dialogue, you can analyze any three pieces of evidence to conclude these investigations.

Go through the process of analyzing three pieces of evidence once more and you'll discover a Busted Gatlian. The Gatlian is being experimented but you'll be unable to save them at this time so exit the base and walk toward the marker pinged by your suit's scanner to find Dr. Giblets.

Dr. Giblets Boss Battle - Escape the Base

Startled by your arrival, Dr. Giblets will fall off of a stool and die. But as you go to collect his DNA, the base will enter a security lockdown and you'll fall into a giant battle arena. Comprised of several phases, the Dr. Giblets boss battle is a survival challenge that'll force you to kill wave after wave of enemies to escape.

Dr. Giblets Boss Battle Waves
Wave 1Consists of yellow Grunts and Merks, red Merks, and purple armored Merks.
Wave 2Includes Mytes, Shelled Mytes, and Drones.
Wave 3Consists of Snipers, Jasons (tethered enemies), and the hulking G3 enemies introduced in the Douglas Bounty.
Wave 4The room is flooded with poisonous gas making it impossible to stay on the ground. You must stay in the air or on the platforms with enemies on them to avoid taking damage. This wave consists of yellow Grunts, yellow Merks, purple armored Merks, and Drones.

Tips for Surviving the Dr. Giblets Battle

  • You're currently at your peak mobility so make sure to use all of your resources to escape the horde. This includes using the grapple bugs, your Jetpack, and the magnetic strips on the walls to avoid your foes.
  • Gus and Sweezy both have special abilities that are great at crowd control. Sweezy's Time Bubble can slow the movement of a large group of enemies while Gus' discs ricochet off several enemies.
  • In addition to being great at crowd control, Sweezy's Time Bubbles deal hefty amounts of damage when exploded. Use them to chunk away at bigger enemies.
  • As soon as you hear Dr. Giblets mention Nipulon, get to the central platform or latch on a magnetic wall to avoid damage from the poisonous gas.
  • In between waves, search the arena for Durashield Tanks to replenish your shield and Gaterall to replenish your weapon's alternate fire.

If you manage to survive all four waves, hover into the ventilation shaft and latch yourself to the magnetic wall. This will bring you back to the area in which you analyzed the clues in the base. Walk into the lab and rescue the Busted Gatlian named Lezduit. The door behind you will lock, so interact with the red interface to turn on the portal in the room.

Once you've returned home, hand the busted Gatlian to Gene and use the Bounty-5k to turn in the Dr. Giblets Bounty!
